Birmingham AL – Birmingham International Airport

Located in Birmingham, just minutes off of I-59 is the Birmingham International Airport. I was down there the other day picking up my parents who live in Birmingham Alabama after they returned from a trip. Birmingham International Airport has been serving Alabama and its guests for more than 75 years and is also one of the top 75 airports in the country based on passengers served. In 2007 over 3.2 million passengers were served, in 2008, this year they are already on pace to beat that number!

For directions to the Birmingham International Airport, you can check the map here.

Birmingham AL – Downtown – Our First Guest Picture!

Our first guest picture! We want to give a special thanks to Meredith Evans for giving us a first guest picture. This is fantastic shot giving us the skyline of downtown Birmingham Alabama.

Thank You Meredith!

Birmingham AL – Sign of the Times?

It's So Bad We Have To Give It Away!

I get asked sometimes how the market is and I thought this might sum it up, “It’s So Bad We Have To Give It Away?” Actually that’s not true at all right now here, which is good news to those who live in Birmingham Alabama. Unless, you are in the used lawn equipment market… I hear that is struggling, but you may want to check with Lowe’s or Home Depot about that one!

Mountain Brook AL – Emmet O’Neal Library

Emmet O'Neal Library

Summer is getting HOT! I was thinking of something I could do indoors and my kids love to read. Emmet O’Neal Library is probably where we go the most which is located in the Crestline Village area of Mountain Brook. It is centrally located so that all who call Mountain Brook home as well as those who live in the surrounding communities can all easily get there. Plan on making a visit? You can get directions from the Emmet O’Neal Library site or Google Maps.

Helena AL – Welcome to Old Town Helena!

As you drive into Helena Alabama on 261, Helena Road, you are greeted by a reminder of why you live in Helena Alabama. Helena, in 2007 was recognized as one of the top 100 places to live in America by Money magazine, and actually was the highest rated city in the state, thus making the number one place to live in Alabama. In 2007, it was also rated, by Business Week, as the 13th “Best Place to Raise Your Kids.”

Trussville AL – Pinnacle Shopping Center

I had just turned off of I-459 and turned on to I-59 and was reminded again of the growth that the people who live in Trussville Alabama have been watching and experiencing over the past few years. The Pinnacle opened in late 2006 and has been growing ever since adding stores like Belk and JC Penney, American Eagle Outfitters, Portrait Innovations, Learning Express, and some local shops like A Rabbit’s Tale, Bama Fever/Tiger Pride, and Accessory Heaven. Even some restaurants  are making their way up[ there  like 5 Guys Burgers and Fries, Logan’s Roadhouse, and Red Robin. It’s easy to see how you could spend a day (and a lot of money) at the Pinnacle in Trussville, Alabama.

Hoover AL – Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort And Spa

The Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa is located in Hoover Alabama. It is a beautiful site to see surrounded by the Ross Bridge Subdivision. Those who live here live in Hoover Alabama. The Ross Bridge Golf Course is part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Vestavia Hills AL – Vestavia Hills City Center

Vestavia Hills City Center

The Vestavia Hills City Center is located on Highway 31 just about three miles north of I-65. With over 370,000 square feet of shopping, eating, and entertainment it has surely earned its name as the City Center. If you live in Vestavia Hills Alabama, I am sure you have already been there. If you haven’t and you live in Birmingham it definitely is worth the trip with places to see like the Rave Motion Pictures, A Medi Day Spa, and Sips N Strokes just to name a few.

Homewood AL – West Homewood Park Swimming Pool

West Homewood Park Swimming Pool

It’s hard to resist isn’t it? Doesn’t it look inviting? Here sits the swimming pool at West Homewood Park cool and refreshing and wanting to share itself with you. We know already that the pool at the West Homewood Park is already open. (Hours can be found at the link above.) If you live in Homewood Alabama be sure to go buy and give the pool a visit. It sure looks rather lonely up there!

Poop Free Zone – Helena AL Sign

Poop Free Zone

I was at the park where the Helena Amphitheater is in Old Town Helena and I saw this sign. I thought it was pretty funny since it so plainly speaks for itself. Those of you who live in Helena Alabama have probably seen this already, but if you haven’t yet, check it out when you go to one of the events at the Helena Amphitheater in Old Town Helena.
