Alabama Tanktop, Yes, I Know It’s Redneck

Now, I know this may perpetuate every Redneck stereotype about Alabama, but I can honestly say I have never seen this in person. Make sure you take a look at the ingenuity she used in creating this!

A friend of mine, Jason Secor, a Birmingham Alabama Real Estate Agent, sent this to me. It had been sent to him by someone who said it was taken in Alabama. So, just for fun, I thought I would share it with you!

I guess this would classify as one of our guest posts, but we don’t know who took it!

If this is your mother, I apologize if you find it embarrassing! :uD

Confused Traffic Lights – Where Do I Go?

Now, just in case you did not notice look at those lights one more time, and, YES, they are red and green! So, it begs the question what do I do? Where do I go?

Why don’t you tell me below!

Birmingham AL – One Prayer – Church of the Highlands

Saturday, July 26, 2008, Church of the Highlands (which is where we go to church) is participating in a massive undertaking (One Prayer) with hundreds of other groups (from our church) and more than 1,600 other churches around the world to make an impact in our world. Saturday, July 26, 2008, will be the day that you may see thousands of blue shirts (thats the uniform) serving in different ways around Birmingham Alabama. Another part of the focus was to help plant more than 500 churches around the world. A video list of the churches has also been made. Remember us in your thoughts this weekend as we seek to model the example set before us and bring honor to our Lord.

Vestavia Hills AL – Taziki’s Greek Fare – Liberty Park

It’s Friday night, date night, and my wife has been more than excited about the new opening of Taziki’s Greek Fare just minutes away from the our little piece of  Birmingham Alabama Real Estate. Taziki’s has been one of our favorite restaurants for several years now because of its absolutely yummy menu. (My wife loves the Friday Special!) There are four restaurants around town now, be sure to catch one. Below you can find directions to each one.

  1. Highway 280 (In Mountain Brook near Homewood)
  2. Lee Branch (down where Highway 280 and 119 meet)
  3. The Colonade (also off Highway 280 near Highway 459)
  4. THE NEWEST – Liberty Park (at the Highway 459 Exit 23)

Vestavia Hills AL – Murphrees Fruits and Vegetables in Cahaba Heights

I had to make a quick stop Monday at Murphree’s Fruits and Vegetables in Cahaba Heights, and WOW!, did they get a fan! Just getting out of my car began the experience, the aroma of fresh peaches, strawberries, etc… It was amazing! If you live in Cahaba Heights, Vestavia Hills, you probably know where it is, but in case you don’t, you can get directions to Murphree’s here. If you like your fruit and veggies fresh, make sure you stop by.

Birmingham AL – The AIR is Hot!

.

So what does this mean? My guess is… It’s hot. Stay inside. Be safe. Conserve. I am not sure what else it means to those of us who call Birmingham Alabama home. Looking online, I could not find any definitions, but I did however find a list of eight reasons why people ignore them. Can I add a ninth? No one can find out what they mean.

Homewood AL – Salsaritas Fresh Cantina

Dinner time came last night to us with good friends at Salsaritas Fresh Cantina in Homewood Alabama. Salsaritas is fairly new to those of us who call Birmingham Alabama home, but they are quickly making a mark. Two restaurants have already opened: one in Alabaster and of course this one in Homewood. A third is on its way to the eastern side of town at the Eastwood Shopping Center.

Birmingham Alabama Guest Photographers – My Weekly Request

It’s been almost two weeks actually since I did my reminder, that we are inviting YOU to join us in celebrating Birmingham, Alabama and its surrounding area with a photograph.

Back on the 9th, I invited you to show us what’s “In Birmingham” in your opinion.

I can take picture after picture of what I see, but these are just one persons point of view, and I have to believe that people want to see more than just my perspective.

So, join me in showing off the area. You don’t have to be a pro, you just have to have a camera.

Birmingham AL – McWane Science Center

Last night we took our oldest to the McWane Science Center. It is one of his favorite places to visit AND he had been begging for it for about two weeks now… so we caved.

The McWane Sciene Center is also home to our only local IMAX movie theater (that I know of) and always has some special events or exhibits going on so each visit can be a little different than the list. They actually have a calender on their website so you know what is happening before you get there. If you live in Birmingham, or anywhere close by, it is worth the trip. Here are directions to the McWane Center.

Where Is This In Birmingham Alabama?

Can you guess where this is? I will give you a hint. It is convenient to wherever you live in Birmingham Alabama. OK, that is probably not a good enough hint. How about, it is on Highway 280 between the Summit and Brook Highland. I can’t give away to much information otherwise it would be to easy to figure out.

If this Photo Trivia is to hard (or easy) for you try our list Trivia Post: What Is This? Something Seen In Birmingham Alabama. No one has figured it out yet, but we do have some movement in the right direction.
