A couple of days ago I was driving through Homewood Alabama and found a little piece of heaven on earth. Let me be precise though, the little piece of heaven on earth was not the place, but the bite of cake (or Baby Bites as they call them) that I put in my mouth. My first bite was of their Red Velvet Baby Bite. (Dennis Gregg, their General Manager, has been told its the best Red Velvet Cake in town, and it just may be!) The creator of this heavenly delights was the Pastry Arts Bake Shoppe. I have found out that even most of those who live in Homewood Alabama don’t even know they are there… yet! Hopefully they will soon, because they are surely missing out! For directions to Pastry Arts check here.

I was introduced to baby bites about 4 months ago…and I am ashamed to say that I can eat a dozen in one day..and I go at least once a week…but it has to be the best little piece of cake I have ever tasted. The red velvet are heavenly…It is literally a BITE..so you have to have more!!!! I used to visit a local bakery regularly..and ever since I had a baby bite..I have not returned to the bakery that I was once faithful to!
