Downtown Birmingham – from I-59

What’s The Caption?

OK, this one has nothing to do with Alabama or Birmingham at all, but someone sent it to me and I thought it would be fun.

Can you come up with a caption for the picture below?

Put your ideas in the comment section and see if

we can come up with a good one!

Country Views – A Black and White Series Part 5

flowers

I was out showing houses the other week and ended up in some rural areas on the outskirts of Birmingham. Something about being out in the country seems nostalgic to me, and since I always bring my camera with me, I took some pictures and wanted to share them with you.

Pockets of flowers growing in rocks and natural areas are pretty much everywhere.

Something you need to know about country living is that sometimes the natural gas companies just don’t have availability in the area, and because of that… Well, I think you get the idea. These are a mainstay in a lot of country areas, and while there are “fancier” ways to do it, this is pretty much the norm.

Flowers in Bloom Part 4

p3190653

During this time of year, there are so many beautiful sights to be seen. Spring time is approaching and flowers are starting to bloom. While I was at a Crestwood Home for Sale that we have listed I saw some beautiful flowers and trees starting to bloom, and I wanted to share what I found. On this one, I really liked how so many of them were blooming together.

Irondale Alabama Home SOLD!

irondale-home-sold

Under contract in 18 days! In this market!

I was asked the other day why I thought this home sold so quickly and I easily came up with a few reasons why:

  1. It was priced correctly
  2. The homeowners were cooperative. They kept the home neat at all times (and properly staged) and were flexible for showings.
  3. Aggressive, unique, and cutting edge marketing.

Only one of these was up to us… The other two were the responsibilty of the home owner. They took on the responsibilty of keeping their home ready to sell and they were open to the price that the market dictated.

This home was located in the Irondale area. Irondale is located in Jefferson County next to Mountain Brook, Leeds, Trussville, and Birmingham City.

Alabama Tanktop, Yes, I Know It’s Redneck

Now, I know this may perpetuate every Redneck stereotype about Alabama, but I can honestly say I have never seen this in person. Make sure you take a look at the ingenuity she used in creating this!

A friend of mine, Jason Secor, a Birmingham Alabama Real Estate Agent, sent this to me. It had been sent to him by someone who said it was taken in Alabama. So, just for fun, I thought I would share it with you!

I guess this would classify as one of our guest posts, but we don’t know who took it!

If this is your mother, I apologize if you find it embarrassing! :uD

Dothan AL – Tribute to Sherman Rose

Sherman Rose Mural in Dothan Alabama

No, I am still have not made it home to Birmingham Alabama, but I am on the way back, so I thought I would share another picture I took while I was down here. As I drove around Dothan, Alabama I saw a number of murals on the walls of building paying homage to various aspects of Dothan Alabama’s history. This one was one I saw each day on my way to class. It was a tribute to Sherman Rose, one of the Tuskegee Airmen who helped so honorably during World War II serving to fight for a country that had yet given him all of the freedoms he deserved. Dothan Alabama has a lot of history to share. If you are ever driving through, take time to see what history is connected here.

Father’s Day Tribute

The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle. ~ Anais Nin

As a father, I believe part of my role is to teach my children to dream, dream big, dream bigger than they could imagine and to have a hope and belief that those hopes and dreams can come true. We believe, and we are teaching our children to believe, “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! (Eph. 3:20 Message)

and we look forward to seeing those dreams come true…
