OK, this is not my picture, but it is the ad for a photographer here in town that I HIGHLY recommend. She is Trisha Crain.
We, as a family, have already used her twice, and we have plans to use her again this year. She is very good!

School started this week (last week for some) for many of the school in and around Birmingham Alabama, so I thought I would do a series for the next week.
Back To School!
For a lot of students this is an exciting, for some not so exciting, and a lot of parents are feeling both ways too! So, today, let’s join Vestavia Hills Elementary School – Central, one of the Vestavia Hills City Schools, in welcoming some of you (if you call Vestavia Hills home ) back to school.
Have a great year!
Saturday, July 26, 2008, Church of the Highlands (which is where we go to church) is participating in a massive undertaking (One Prayer) with hundreds of other groups (from our church) and more than 1,600 other churches around the world to make an impact in our world. Saturday, July 26, 2008, will be the day that you may see thousands of blue shirts (thats the uniform) serving in different ways around Birmingham Alabama. Another part of the focus was to help plant more than 500 churches around the world. A video list of the churches has also been made. Remember us in your thoughts this weekend as we seek to model the example set before us and bring honor to our Lord.

It’s Friday night, date night, and my wife has been more than excited about the new opening of Taziki’s Greek Fare just minutes away from the our little piece of Birmingham Alabama Real Estate. Taziki’s has been one of our favorite restaurants for several years now because of its absolutely yummy menu. (My wife loves the Friday Special!) There are four restaurants around town now, be sure to catch one. Below you can find directions to each one.
I had to make a quick stop Monday at Murphree’s Fruits and Vegetables in Cahaba Heights, and WOW!, did they get a fan! Just getting out of my car began the experience, the aroma of fresh peaches, strawberries, etc… It was amazing! If you live in Cahaba Heights, Vestavia Hills, you probably know where it is, but in case you don’t, you can get directions to Murphree’s here. If you like your fruit and veggies fresh, make sure you stop by.

In the heart of Cahaba Heights, which in is Vestavia Hills, Alabama is The Heights Village. It’s a quaint little shopping center with some unique offerings such as Starbucks, Learning Express, The Lili Pad, Yankee Pizzeria, Little Soles, O’Carrs Restaurant, Wan’s Chinese, Sexton’s Seafood, Cummings Jewelry Design, Regions Bank, and Dairy Queen. Those of you who call the Cahaba Heights section of Vestavia Hills home probably already know about The Heights Village, and those of you who don’t should.
The Vestavia Hills City Center is located on Highway 31 just about three miles north of I-65. With over 370,000 square feet of shopping, eating, and entertainment it has surely earned its name as the City Center. If you live in Vestavia Hills Alabama, I am sure you have already been there. If you haven’t and you live in Birmingham it definitely is worth the trip with places to see like the Rave Motion Pictures, A Medi Day Spa, and Sips N Strokes just to name a few.
Located beside Vestavia Hills Elementary School – West, Wald Park can be one of those fun places to go and take the kids. They have a pavilion there for picnics as well. If you live in Vestavia Hills, AL (or anywhere close by), with a day like today, it might just be the perfect time to go. If you want to find out where it is and get directions, you can check here at map to Wald Park.

Continuing on during this beginning of June on our ”Goodbye for the Summer” series, we are saying “Good Bye!” to schools this week since summer is here!
This is Liberty Park Elementary School, which is part of the Vestavia Hills Alabama School System. If you happen to have a little piece of Vestavia Hills AL Real Estate, you may either call Liberty Park Elementary School or any one of the other four elementary school home for part of the year.
Enjoy your summer!!
